South
Aussie 1999 After
blowing all our money on the travels in late 1998, we worked at the Hill for a
while, which earnt me the time and money to get a companion for The General.
"The Rapist" was named by Deb for its reputation for pillaging
the bush, a misconception which taints the image of a noble sport.
The
General towed it to South Australia, where the Flinders Ranges were turned to
dust by the thumping 350. Highlights
were drinving in 44°
heat with the heater on full ball, doing 80kph, trying not to overheat The
General which had a buggered radiator.
Scenery there was fantastic, and the bike was the best way of seeing it.
Corrogation proof, the bike could glide past 4WD's doing 40kph at 100kph
under the blazing sun. We could
also leave the track briefly to chase some camels around.
