Secrets to Happiness when camping
I've been doing a fair bit of car based camping trips over the past few, and after a few ales I often recite this list of small things which I reckon help a lot to make the experience pleasant. Random order.
1. Not using an airbed. A foam-rubber mattress is heaps more comfortable and doest take half of the holiday to blow up manually or with a shithouse pump (they don’t make non-shithouse ones yet) 2.Using
plastic knives, forks, spoons, plates …and burn or chuck them rather than mucking around washing dishes. 3.Bringing
heaps of plastic bags Good
for heaps - rubbish, dirty clothes etc. And
they're free for the time being. 4.
Bringing heaps of newspaper Same
again, good for starting fires, separating dirt from other stuff etc.
They're free too. 5.
Using a decent pillow There's
no need to suffer in the bush. 6.
Not eating near the tent or where you're hanging out Because
ants will finish off the crumbs etc. 7.
If your not bringing a girly, then not bringing a tent ie bring a swag instead if you have one. Swags are great. 8. If you are bringing a girly, then plan the holiday such that you are hot during the day and cold at night. Controversial,
but makes sense. |
