Recipes
As those who have had the pleasure of my cooking will vehemently attest, (eg. Sharah, Simon in the shared house), I'm a really really good cook. I have finally given in to the persistent enquiries, and agreed to provide some of my delicacies free of charge. Although if you'd like to make a donation, I'm sure I'll put it to good use. An example of a good use is here. The criteria for any of the following recipes is as follows:
MEAL ONE: LENTIL DELIGHT. Heat one can of baked beans, preferably in the can to save dishes. Serve anywhere between lukewarm and hot. Goes well with beer.
MEAL TWO: RED GRUEL (Inspired by Richo, named by Mirko) Add to a bowl: Can of 800 g diced tomatoes, two cans of 425g tuna (drain most of the brine), jar of pasta sauce if you like, chopped garlic to taste, herbs and spices to taste. Thawed peas and corn and carrot from frozen packet, generous proportion. This is stirred, and put in fridge for storage. 4 Serves. Served in bowl about double the size of a cereal bowl after microwaving on med-high for 4 minutes. Add plenty of any pasta other than spaghetti. Can eat with fork or spoon.
MEAL THREE: "CHICKEN" SOUP (Inspired by Dave's mate) Add to pot: A fair bit of any pasta, 1 litre water, 1 can creamed corn, 1 packet chicken soup mix. When boiling, add beaten eggs (3-4) slowly and stir, so that it cooks into little bits as it enters the water. Then as pasta is nearly ready, add vegies such as peas, corn, carrots, beans from frozen inventory. 3-4 serves. Serve in bowl with spoon.
MEAL FOUR: Quick Steak and Vegies Buy "McKain's Pasta Alfredo", a steak, half an onion and mushies. Fry steak, onion and mushies on light olive oil layer while half a pack of pasta Alfredo churns away in microwave for 12 minutes. Then serve. (The Pasta Alfredo has a number of different vegies and a bit of pasta, in a light sauce, and saves cutting or storing vegies for a small cost difference) Serves One, Steak best eaten with onion/ mushies on top without sauce.
MEAL FIVE: Pasta de la Fromage Two minute noodles, drain most of the water, then sprinkle frozen grated cheese (Fromage) over it, mix it in a bit and let it melt for a minute. Good for a quick feed when you are too buggered to be bothered cooking. Doesn't "de la" sound good. Serves One, best eaten in the nude on a houseboat.
